Tavoor Hills, in Tala Cauvery, Coorg is one of the few unknown treks that most of the trekkers are still not aware of. Because, it is not known by many trekkers, it is more adventures and challenging as we need to make and find our own trail to the peak. Nature Walker has explored this trek considering all the safety measures.
Tavoor hills is profound with nature’s beauty and is surrounded by 4-5 different peaks. The Western Ghat – Kopatty Mountain Range is distinctly visible from the peak.
It is located in the heart of small villages “Tavoor” of “Bhagamandala” in Coorg.

Start from Bangalore – reach Bhagamadala – get ready for trek at homestay – Start the trek from homestay – then to the base of Tavoor hills – trek to the peak – return to base – camp fire.
Next day – visit to Bhagamandala Temple – back to bangalore

Leaving from Bangalore at late evening. We request you to have some light food before travelling. This trip would be an overnight journey to Bhagamandala Village (via Virajpet) which is about 335 km away from Bangalore, in which we would have an informal introduction and have fun.
We will reach Home Stay in morning. Fresh up at the homestay and Set up for the trek after a nice breakfast.
10 am – 11 am – Coffee Plantation Farm
We would start our trek from the homestay to the base of Tavoor hills. Crossing the water stream would let you enter the coffee plantation farm.The initial path is bit distinctive as the route is through the Coffee farm and Elachi plantation.
11 am – 11.30 am – First Check Point.
After the first check point of the trek, the trail become little bit challenging as the path is guided by nature’s own wish. Steep path, huge bushes and throne creepers would defend your every step.
12 noon – 1.30 pm – Tavoor Peak (Lunch)
After overcoming all the challenges the joy of reaching the peak is very difficult express in limited words. The View from the peak would literally stop your time for a while.
1.30 pm – 2 pm – Resting Point
One side of the Tavoor hill gives you the vast breath taking view of Kopatty Hill range of Western Ghats and other side gives you a beautiful view of the whole Bhagamandala town.
2.30 pm – 4.30pm – Descent from Tavoor Hills
After Spending some quality time at the Peak, we would start our descent from the Peak and beach back the homestay for hot dinner.PrecautionDuring monsoon season, one can witness lots of leeches, so, we request you should take proper precaution before entering into this jungle. Please look out for professional guidance before embarking your journey on this mountain.
