Gandikota camping, Belum Caves & Lepakshi Temple Visit

Description:

Feeling that a visit to Grand Canyon of US is a lost cause now? Well, look no further! We have a Mini version of it in India called “Gandikota” situated at the banks Penna river about 280km to the north of Bangalore. This place is famous for its fort which was used as a watch tower by various dynasties of South India. The gorge between the Erramala range of hills gives a spectacular view of the pristine and lovely surrounding. Camping on the top of Gandikota gives a perfect opportunity to capture the ethreal sunrise in mornings and out of the world star gazing at night!

This weekend trip from Bangalore also includes a visit to the Belum caves which is the largest and longest cave system in the Indian Subcontinent! We would be exploring a part of it as a part of our adventure trip- Gandikota camping. Apart from Belum caves, we would also be visiting Lepakshi Temple. Built in the 16th century, this temple is famous for its elegant architecture, stone carvings, ancient paintings. A visit to this temple is guaranteed to remind you of our rich historical times!
