If you are striving for some thrill in your ordinary routine, then exploring the underwater life can be absolutely what you might need. And if you have already had scuba diving in your bucket list then it’s the time to tick it off with Netrani. Scuba Diving is all about experiencing the spectacular underwater life. 

Netrani Island, also known as “Pigeon Island” is one of the most pellucid diving waters in India. It is a small island with negligible inhabitants. The beautiful coral life of the crystal-clear waters makes it an apt location for snorkeling as well as scuba diving. The island has 6 to 40 meters deep waters with visibility up to 30 meters. This means that you get to enjoy the multi-colored corals and swim with innumerable underwater creatures. 

Short Itinerary

Day 0:

  • Leave from Bangalore on Friday at 7:30 pm

Day 1:

  • Reach Jog falls on Saturday Morning, fresh up and have breakfast.
  • Reach Apsara Konda Waterfall and have lunch on the way.
  • Reach in Murdeshwar in the evening.
  • Rest for the Day at homestay accommodation (boys and girls separate accommodation
  • Campfire & Dinner.

Day 2:

  • Have breakfast and Leave to Netrani Island for scuba diving in a boat.
  • Scuba Session for 30 -40 min in Netrani Island
  • Return back from scuba diving.
  • Evening beach trail on Murdeshwar
  • Shiva Temple visit and Dinner.
  • Leave from Murdeshwar back to Bangalore

Day 3:

  • Reach Bangalore morning 6 am

Detail Itinerary

Day 1

The adventure trip begins from Netrani’s nearest city, Bangalore. The 3-4 days adventure will begin from the evening of probably a Friday.

Day 2

On Saturday morning, the travel group will reach Jog Falls, the second highest waterfall in India. Nothing can be better than starting your weekend amongst the enchanting waterfalls between the lush green forests. The arrangements for breakfast and to give your day a fresh will be made here. The waterfall is dependent on the water from artificial sources like reservoirs and dams. Hence in order to enjoy voluminous waters you will have to wait for Netrani. Unfortunately, due to the high risks involved the pool cannot be enjoyed by swimming or bathing.

After a lavish breakfast, the next stoppage will be Apsara Konda waterfalls (pond of the fairies). This place is so appealing to the eye that it is believed once angels took a bath here and hence the name. To reach this destination one has to climb approximately 155 steps. The trek will be easy as the routes are well marked. Along with the waterfalls, there is a temple that often catches the eyes of the tourists. While on your way to the waterfalls be prepared to hear some interesting mythical stories about the place. A deviation from the path to the Apsara Konda waterfalls leads to a beach. The arrangements for lunch will be made on the way to the splendid waterfall. After the trek, Murdeshwar will be the place for the stoppage. Post this the day will be called off. There are separate accommodation facilities for men and women at a relaxing homestay.

Day 3

The next day will begin with breakfast at the homestay followed by the journey to the much-awaited destination—Netrani Islands. As you continue your journey to unfold the adventure that awaits a ride on a boat to Netrani will boost your soul.

While you must have already done all the research about the diving site there are a few more facts that might take you by surprise. The island when viewed from eagle’s eye has a heart-shaped appearance.

When you swim into the azure waters of the island you will come across various marine inhabitants as turtles, stingray, cobia, blacktip sharks, stonefish and many more.

The scuba session will last for 40 minutes and will give you one of the most cherishable memories for a lifetime.

The evening will be spent is Murdeshwar shrine which boasts the second tallest Shiva temple in the world. The magnanimous statue will fill your heart with tranquility. The best beach to visit nearby is Bhatkal. All in all, Murdeshwar will prove to be a place of pilgrimage and adventure.

Day 4

On the final day you will be loaded with a lot of memories as you leave Murdeshwar to travel towards the starting point. At 6 in the morning, you will reach Bangalore and the fantastic trip will come to an end. Netrani being on the west coast is affected by monsoons, thus restricting the diving season. The months when you will be permitted for diving are from February to June and October and December.

Safety,Risk and Advisory

We develop our itinerary without compromising anything regards to Safety. We are aware that you would have concern regarding travelling this post covid lockdown but we take several measures to make the trip safe for you. We strongly recommend all the travellers in the trip to gain a Covid-19 Test certification. Apart from that we also sanitize the vehicle and homestay/campsite thoroughly before using it. We have made the use of face mask mandatory at public places and travel destination. Although its difficult to trek with face mask on, we strongly monitor the protocol of social distancing.   • Please carry Xerox copy of Pan Card or Aadhar Card, as its same is required to permission from the Forest Department. 
  • Non – Indian nationals will have to pay additional cost of Rs. 1300/- toward forest permission. 
  • We strictly DO NOT ALLOW consumption of Alcohol, Beer, smoking or intoxicants on out trek. We request you to please co-operate with us to the make the experience more enjoyable. 
  • Requesting our participant to DO NOT EXPECT any kind of luxury on the trek. We host our treks in remote location and do our best to arrange the basic necessary facilities for our participant. The objective is to experience the local outdoor. 
  • We provide hot vegetarian food on our treks. If in case we can arrange Non-Veg, we would inform you on the trek. 
  • DO NOT wear tight pants; tight pants are not comfortable for treks as the leg motion is restricted. 
  • DO NOT carry valuable ornaments; it can cause unnecessary trouble if misplaced. (Nature Walkers do not take any responsibility of your ornaments). 
  • DO NOT wear black or dark cloths and perfume on the trek (as some insects get attracted to dark color and perfumes) 
  • Please put the little at its place, we request to not trash the trek or the accommodation facility. 
  • If in case of traffic delay, we request our participants to expect little delay in reaching the destination. 
  • 8 to 20 Members 
  • We get equal boys to girls ratio for most of our treks/trips 
  • We require a minimum of 8 participant to confirm the event 
  • If in case, we fail to obtain the required minimum number of participants. We would initiate full refund or transfer to another event for the same departure date. (Option of transfer shall be subject to payment/refund of balance amount if any) 

FAQs

Nature Walkers shall follow all the basic Covid Guidelines like Face Mask, Hand Sanitizer, Vehicle and Homestay Sanitization with Temperature Check. It is mandatory to carry Covid Vaccination Certificate if you have been vaccinated with both the doses on Trek. If you have Vaccinated only with one dose or have not got vaccinated,  then you would need RTPCR Negative Test Report to join this Trek. As It might be inconvience if the state government rule changes after your do your registration or after you begin your travel and it would be difficult to find covid test centers nearby to your travel destinations.
