Fitness Regime for your Western Ghats Treks (Comprehensive plan to make you fit for any trek in 4 weeks)
At 1,712 metres, Kumara Parvatha Trek guides you to the highest peak in Pushpagiri Wildlife Sanctuary in the Western Ghats. It is located 20 km from Somwarpet in the Northern part of Kodagu district. It is the sixth highest peak in Karnataka and is known to be the toughest to climb in the region. The starting point of the trek is Sowmwarpet Side, located opp to the Subramanya village in this region.
Breakfast and dinner will be provided at the homestay. As for lunch, it would be packed and carried during the trek. Food availability is quite scarce during the whole trail and it’s quite difficult to even find water. So, all arrangements would be done from the base.
Day 0: Overnight bus travel from Bangalore to Somwarpet
Day 1: Trek to Kumara Parvatha
Now, this is the time when you would actually feel as if you are on cloud nine. The emotion you would go through would be quite inexplicable.
Trekking through a 14 km not-so-easy path and finally reaching the top can really boost you up. So, feel it completely.
Also, the amazing views of Madikeri which would welcome you at the top are obviously worth your every second. Vast valleys formed like a carpet of layers and layers of green. Yes. That’s how beautiful it is from the top.
After spending an hour or two we would start with our descent towards the homestay.
By 6pm we would be back at our base camp, have some evening tea and snacks. Our day would end with a campfire, dinner and lovely memories of the trek.
Day 2: Trip to Mallalli Waterfalls and return to Bangalore
Gushing from the top it looks as if thin satin threads are flowing from the mountains. The view is mesmerizing and its vastness would certainly make you feel quite small in front.
We would start for Bangalore post-visit Mallalli Waterfalls to reach by 10 pm.
