Kurangani slope station lies near Bodinayakanur in Theni area of Tamil Nadu. This lesser known diamond of a spot in the midst of the immeasurably investigated Western Ghats likewise holds a sharp edge at the tallness purpose of 8782 ft. called Kolukkumalai — considered one of the most noteworthy tea homes on the planet.
With a diverse flora and fauna to boast, the trek appeals to photographers, birdwatchers and wildlife enthusiasts alike. The trail takes you on a zigzag route through a wide expanse of tea gardens. It is most likely that you will spot a wide variety of chirping birds and animals like Nilgiri langur, Nilgiri Tahr, monkeys and Gaurs (Indian Bison). Wild cats and elephant herds are a rarity, but who knows, in the thick canopies and sylvan surroundings, you might cross paths with one.
In the two-day trek, we will cross two check posts— we will be spending the night at the first check post. Witness a welcoming sunrise with the view of the lush tea plantations in the foreground. Prepared to get delighted by myriad landscapes as you cross grasslands, meadows, tea and coffee plantations and dense forest of Kurangani.
Important Notice:
To reduce down trek cost as the cost increases because of state permit cost for two state, we are opting for public transport for this trek. We would be going to Munnar in Non/AV- Sleeper/Seater luxury bus from Bangalore to Bodi and then would be taking a jeep ride to the base camp.

Detail Itinerary
0
Day 0: Departure from Bangalore
We will leave from Bangalore late evening. We request you to have some light refreshments before voyaging. This trip would be an overnight journey to Bodi in which we would have an informal introduction and have fun.
We would reach the start point in the early morning, after fresh up and breakfast, we would start our
trek to our first campsite i.e. Central Station. It is about 7km from Kurijini Village.
Initially the trail is jeep track from which we will deviate into the jungle towards our first waterfall. The
dense jungle by the side makes you aware about the wildlife living in it. Lush green vegetation, Coffee
farm makes this trek very unique in itself.
After a small break at the waterfall, we would move ahead towards the old coffee estate farm house,
following the water stream by the side.
The jungle would start looking brighter when we are near about campsite. It is about 2-2.5km walk from
the estate farm house to our central station check post.
After lunch we would explore a bit more of this area for beautiful mountains and landscapes with a sip
of local coffee/tea. Please do look for the pictures from this campsite.

Day 2: Trek from Central Station to Top Station
Walking up to the bird’s tweets and a hot breakfast would refill your energy bar for the day’s trek of 7
kms to Top Station.
It is a zig-zag route from Central Station to Top Station but more like mountains side walk. The trail gives
a constant view of the below valley, which is just amazing. You can spot several rare birds on the way
like, (Red whiskered bulbul, veriditer flycatcher, tickells blue flycatcher, Oriental white eye, purple
rumped sunbird male).
After 4kms, we would stop at a rest point for a while before to climb to our top station check post. The
top station gives mesmerizing panoramic view of the whole valley. Its feels magical to view the floating
clouds in the valley. Check the time-lapse video.
After our self-sponsored lunch we would explore a bit and then leave to Bangalore in our bus.

Safety,Risk and Advisory
We develop our itinerary without compromising anything regards to Safety. We are aware that you would have concern regarding travelling this post covid lockdown but we take several measures to make the trip safe for you. We strongly recommend all the travellers in the trip to gain a Covid-19 Test certification. Apart from that we also sanitize the vehicle and homestay/campsite thoroughly before using it. We have made the use of face mask mandatory at public places and travel destination. Although its difficult to trek with face mask on, we strongly monitor the protocol of social distancing.

- Please carry Xerox copy of Pan Card or Aadhar Card, as its same is required to permission from the Forest Department.
- Non – Indian nationals will have to pay additional cost of Rs. 1300/- toward forest permission.
- We strictly DO NOT ALLOW consumption of Alcohol, Beer, smoking or intoxicants on out trek. We request you to please co-operate with us to the make the experience more enjoyable.
- Requesting our participant to DO NOT EXPECT any kind of luxury on the trek. We host our treks in remote location and do our best to arrange the basic necessary facilities for our participant. The objective is to experience the local outdoor.
- We provide hot vegetarian food on our treks. If in case we can arrange Non-Veg, we would inform you on the trek.
- DO NOT wear tight pants; tight pants are not comfortable for treks as the leg motion is restricted.
- DO NOT carry valuable ornaments; it can cause unnecessary trouble if misplaced. (Nature Walkers do not take any responsibility of your ornaments).
- DO NOT wear black or dark cloths and perfume on the trek (as some insects get attracted to dark color and perfumes)
- Please put the little at its place, we request to not trash the trek or the accommodation facility.
- If in case of traffic delay, we request our participants to expect little delay in reaching the destination.
- 8 to 20 Members
- We get equal boys to girls ratio for most of our treks/trips
- We require a minimum of 8 participant to confirm the event
- If in case, we fail to obtain the required minimum number of participants. We would initiate full refund or transfer to another event for the same departure date. (Option of transfer shall be subject to payment/refund of balance amount if any)
FAQs
Nature Walkers shall follow all the basic Covid Guidelines like Face Mask, Hand Sanitizer, Vehicle and Homestay Sanitization with Temperature Check.
It is mandatory to carry Covid Vaccination Certificate if you have been vaccinated with both the doses on Trek. If you have Vaccinated only with one dose or have not got vaccinated, then you would need RTPCR Negative Test Report to join this Trek. A
s It might be inconvience if the state government rule changes after your do your registration or after you begin your travel and it would be difficult to find covid test centers nearby to your travel destinations.
